Dr. Graham M. Schweig,
Ph.D. is currently an adjunct Professor of Vaishnava Philosophy
& Religion, at Florida Vedic College; and an Assistant Professor
of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies
at Christopher Newport University, near Virginia Beach in Newport
News, Virginia.
Schweig received his
doctorate in Comparative Religion from Harvard University. He received
two masters degrees from Harvard in the history of religions
and comparative religion. He also received a masters degree
from the University of Chicago in South Asian studies and his undergraduate
degree from American University in religion.
His teaching career
began at Harvard as a Teaching Fellow, and he has taught at institutions
such as Duke University, University of North Carolina, Guilford
College, American University and the University of Massachusetts.
In addition to his primary field of comparative religion, the fields
of interest and research in which Schweig is active are Vaishnava
and Indic studies, South and East Asian philosophies and religions,
psychology of religion, theistic mysticism, and world religions.
Schweig is Senior Editor
of Journal of Vaishnava Studies and has contributed articles to
professional journals and encyclopedias, and several chapters to
various books in the field. He has publishing contracts with Paragon
House and Columbia University Press to write books on Indian philosophy
and religion and produce introductions to and translations of Sanskrit
texts.
